Oklahoma has for a long time been synonymous with Bingo. That’s because the Native bands of Oklahoma have provided Bingo games for many years. Clients from many of the surrounding states load up in trucks and travel to Oklahoma to wager on Bingo on the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act followed a landmark ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year before. From that instance, twenty three of the thirty nine Native bands of Oklahoma have opened bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma American Indian band to take advantage of the betting restrictions, and today operate ten casinos of their own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned casinos were founded. Electronic games like slot machines weren’t approved, owing to the fact that they’re believed to contribute to gambling addiction at a higher rate than bingo.

In recent years, Oklahoma law has altered to allow for large Amerindian gambling gambling halls. You will now find Amerindian casinos with slot machine games, video poker and vingt-et-un tables. Craps and roulette are not authorized in the Native gambling dens yet, but that is just a matter of time. Nobody can authority whether having different casino games in the bingo parlours will do for the draw of bingo.
