Oklahoma has long been interrelated with Bingo. This is because the American Indian tribes of Oklahoma have provided Bingo games for decades. Clients from each of the nearby states get in cars and travel into Oklahoma to play Bingo on the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) was introduced after a benchmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. Since that instance, 23 of the thirty nine Native bands of Oklahoma have opened gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Amerindian tribes to take advantage of the gaming rules, and at this time control 10 casinos of their own. Bingo is the game on which these gambling halls were built on. Electronic games like slots weren’t authorized, owing to the fact that they’re thought to contribute to gambling addiction at a higher rate than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma law has altered to allow for gigantic Native betting gambling halls. You’ll now see Amerindian casinos with slot machine games, video poker and black jack tables. Craps and roulette are not approved in the Indian gambling halls as of yet, although this is just a waiting game. No one can say whether having different casino games in the bingo parlours will do for the popularity of bingo.
